Statement of intent:
My chosen theme for this project is texture. I will be exploring lots of different varieties of textures such as man made objects, different materials and explore different areas of nature etc. I chose to study this theme because I find it really interesting and because of Coronavirus we are very limited to go and take pictures of different landscapes and places. Whereas, texture is everywhere in and outside so there will be a vast amount of opportunities to get photos. I also want to expand my knowledge on my chosen theme to open myself up to new and unique ideas. I also want to take a new look on the things that surround me so this theme is a great way for me to discover my creative outlook on things. I want to research a variety of photographers so I can get some inspiration and I will do some mind maps so I can get a clear idea of where I want to do my shoot and what materials I will use. I intend to complete photo shoots of outside textures, inside textures, natural textures and different materials. The photographers I want to research include Lucy Shires, Andy Small, Roe Ethridge, Edward Weston, Imogen Cunningham and Ken Leslie. I really love their work as they take photos of very natural textures and they are able to capture all the minute details. Not only that I love their vision as each of the professional photographers capture their images all completely different for example Lucy Shires captures textures of urban abstractions but she also adds a sense of emotion to her images which makes her the unique artist she is. The camera techniques I intend to use are aperture to control the brightness of my image depending on the setting. I will make sure my ISO is on the correct setting to lower the noise in my shots and change my shutter speed to maintain control of my work and make sure I am able to allow the right amount of light to go through my photo. As texture comes in a variety of forms I will be limitless of ideas so I will need to maintain the right white balance so I can capture how I am able to show the colours of different objects. I will experiment with the settings on my camera to make sure that my picture comes out clear and not blurry. For some of my shoots I will take them outside and some will be inside so the lightning will change to be either natural light or indoor studio light. I feel like this project is very open which allows me to have total control of my work as their is textures surrounding us which makes me extremely fascinated. To edit my photos I will experiment using photopea and Photoshop. After researching my chosen photographers and their techniques and strategies of getting their shots. I will start to edit in their style on photoshop and photopea. I would like to try getting man- made shots and nature shots. Editing on photoshop and photopea will give me that power of not only mimicking other photographers but to also gibe me the opportunity to learn and play around with all the different settings to make my work into my own. Through this project I hope to learn about other amazing professional ideas and experiment in their styles. I aim to come out with high quality and clear photos really showing the natural textures on different objects. I will then look through my photos and pick my best and worst this will allow me to see the areas I need to improve on and learn from them for future shoots which will benefit me as a photographer myself. By the end of the project I want to have learnt when to change my camera settings and more about the range of textures out there. I picture my final format being very organised, neat and well structured which will make my website easy for an audience to understand. My end goal is to pick my best and favorite photos and display them in an exhibition.

Roe ethridge analysis:
Context:
In this still life photograph by Roe Ethridge there are two red apples with one being cut up into smaller pieces. On one of the apples there are wasps which are eating little bits of it. The photographer's work is called “ C’est pas du luxe”. Which means to be to have too much, so much that it is wasted. He shows this by having six wasps eating two big apples. We know they are not going to be able to eat them all as they would most likely die or over feed. So they are going to be wasted. Roe Ethridge used a medium aperture to make the background soften but not fully out of focus. However, by having the background slightly out of focus it draws us to the apples because they have become more vivid.
Content
This piece of photography was taken around 1985 by Roe Ethridge. Ethridge is an art and commercial photographer. He takes pictures of nature and he makes them mean something. In my opinion I believe that this picture was taken to show people you don’t need a lot because you are going to waste things that other people may need. Food and resource waste is and has been a problem for a very long time. Its been proven that we waste almost half our food which is a serve issue as some countries who are less fortunate and in poverty don't have enough food, water and resources which we use everyday. The food we waste is usually nutritious and very healthy so we are wasting food which other people need. The waste of food and resources doesn't just lead to the increase of the cost of produce but it contributes to climate change. Roe Ethridge wanted to show a deeper meaning and the affect of waste. If we change our ways by buying what we need, planning ahead, save and compost we will make a change even if its a small its a good way to stop waste.
Composition:
The photographer has used an ISO between 50 and 100 as he has taken his photo outside. He has used the rule of even because there are two apples, but because of the use of two apples it makes it look unnatural. Ethridge has also used symmetry on the placement of the table to make the photo seem much more balanced out and in proportion. He also used a wide aperture and a low f-stop to make the depth of field shallow and a fast shutter speed around 1/100 to capture and optimize the use of light. I feel like Ethridge has used either a fluorescent white balance as the photo looks very cool or daylight as he has taken it outdoors. When looking at the photograph my eyes are immediately drawn to the apples because they are the central focal point of the photo. This photo doesn't have a backdrop it just has a background of leaves and greenery to create that natural affect. He also used studio lights in his work to make the apples stand out even more. I know this as there is a reflection of light on the apple. Whereas, if it was natural lighting we would know because the whole apple would be bright instead of a little bit of it. I don't think Roe Ethridge used a tripod as his photo has been taken from a eye view to create that simple but very effective feel to complement the outdoors nature feel. The texture of the apple sticks out to me as it has a very shiny peel and a much more rougher Centre which could show how people think throwing things away aren't damaging but small amount of food can affect the planet.
Connection:
This connects to my work as I have done a shoot where I took photos of fruit and vegetables. In my shoot I took pictures of a pomegranate. I was able to make it the main focal point of the photo and show it in depth detail. I also used some of the same techniques that Ethridge has used to take this photo. As Ethridge took this photo outside his aperture would range from f/8 to f/11 to focus the image. So I also used aperture for all my photos this has allowed us to see all the texture and colour and draw our attention to the fruit and vegetables and not what was happening in the background. I really like his work and the placement of the apple. Also after extensive research I love how he shows a deeper message through his photography. I think this is a really good thing because people may listen more if it is in a picture than if it was in writing. I also really like the fact he takes photos of nature and the colours he uses because it really stands out and attracts the attention of the eye.

Edward Weston Analysis:
Edward Weston was an American photographer who was best known for his close-ups , landscapes and natural forms of photography. Weston was born in 1886 when growing up he discovered a passion for photography. This passion grew to become a dream to do in the future. He took photography as a course in college. After college he became very serious about his photography. He opened his studio to help boost and make his photography get seen. His work became very popular and he won countless awards. I picked this shell because I thought it was incredible and a very interesting piece of photography. This photo is called ‘Shell’ it was made 1927 in Weston's studio. I believe he took this photograph for a gallery, for his family or just for personal interest. I think his strong interest for shells is because shells are very detailed and are all different and they are unusual items.
Western has used white (pale tone) and black (darker tone) to make a very high contrast in colour . Weston has used some sort of a reflective surface to angle the light onto the shell to make it appear shiny. This means this photo is an example of ‘straight photography’ because it is in focus and it has a lot of detail. The name of the photograph is called “Shell’s”. It's a very simple and straightforward name. This makes the image seem very natural and calm. On this shell there is a spiral that makes the shell stand out more as spirals occur naturally by the change in weather. Spirals are usually named the ‘Fibonacci spiral’ as a man named Leonardo Fibonacci tried to understand nature spirals (www.robertharding.com/blog/2014/01/27/spirals-in..).
Weston has used close ups and he has also made the sharpest object stand out. In this photo there are no leading lines as you are drawn straight to the shell as it is the Centre focal point. The shutter speed would have been set to around 1/60 second as the photo was taken inside. The aperture would have been set to around F/2.8. You can also see all the patterns on the shell. I really like this because it makes the image look powerful. Western has taken his photo from a birds eye view to capture the whole shell, all the curves that fit perfectly into one abstract shape. Weston has used a black backdrop and has taken the photo in a studio.
Weston's inspiration was Bertha Wardell. She was a dancer and one day Weston was taking pictures of her and she told him you are losing the passion for taking nude images. She showed him some of her art. The drawings and paintings of sea shells really captured and amazed Weston and inspired him to take pictures of natural, detailed shells. I really love this piece of photography as it is a natural object and it captures all of the shell even the parts where you may not always think about. I don’t dislike anything but I feel like he could change the angle he positions his camera at as this picture is very straight but he could have gone nearer to one side and zoomed in a little bit more to change the size and make the shell the dominant focal point. His photography links to mine as I like taking pictures in black and white and I also make sure my subject is always in focus to capture the best possible picture I can.
Following my research I have become very interested and fond of this piece of photography. I really like all the aspects, for example the way he has used lighting to show the shine inside of the shell. Next time I do a photo shoot I want to incorporate some of the things he did because I want my pictures to pop so I might use contrasting colours to allow my object or objects to appeal more real and show the natural textures.

Imogen Cunningham:
Below is a mood board with pictures by the photographer Imogen Cunning. I really like her work and how she uses black and white to capture all the small details. Imogen Cunning took many photos of flowers, landscapes and all different natural places and things. She uses different techniques for example she uses the rule of third to allow the subject to still be main part of the photo without it being in the center.
Plan for photo shoot:
For my photo shoot, I am taking inspiration from Imogen Cunningham photography. I am going to take photos of natural things such as flowers, leaves and all different plants. I would need to position my camera at the correct angle and I will make the background out of focus to make the picture much more in detail , sharp and focused. I will do my shoots outside and use a camera and natural light. I want to use a dark backdrop so the full focus goes to the flower and all the small details can be seen. For my camera settings I will need to change my ISO quite low around 100-400 because outside the lighting changes. However, If I want a fast shutter speed I will increase my ISO to around 400-800. The items I will need are flowers/plants, light (either natural light or using indoor lights).

Mood boards:
Ken leslie:
Ken Leslie is a photographer well known for his landscape work. Ken Leslie has had a passion for photographer since his childhood where he started to have an interest in nature and art. His idea of natural art are gardens and flowers so things with vivid colours.
Lucy Shires:
Lucy Shires is a photographer well known for capturing textures and photos from isolated and industrial buildings. She portrays the true emotion and depression through the choice of colours and urban areas.
Andy small
Andy Small, who is professional fine art photographer, he specializes in taking photos of nature and landscapes. He is one of UK's most original, artistic and influential flower photographers and exhibits regularly in the UK.
Plan for shoot:
I am going to take inspiration from Ken Leslie an amazing photographer. I love the vibrant colours which stand out and capture you. The pure detail of the lines. I want to take photos of vegetables and fruit. I would need a plain back ground. On my camera I would us a high ISO and shutter speed. This would reduce the level of blur and would allow me to capture everything. For the lighting I will mimic Ken Leslie by using a lamp to create a shine on the fruit and vegetables.

Plan for Shoots
Name: Emily Moorhouse
Project Title/ shoot number:
Texture shoot 1 -fruit and vegetable shoot.
Description of aims for shoot:
In this shoot I aim to take photos of different fruit and vegetables. I want to experiment with different layouts, equipment and angles I take my photos from. I will also look at the colours of fruit and vegetables to see which complement each other and which are contrasting. I also aim to imitate some other photographers to allow me to get a range of photos in different styles.
Links with Photographers:
I am taking inspiration from the photographer Ken Leslie as he takes photos of fruit and vegetables and emphasizes all the vibrant colours and textures. I am also going to try to mimic Imogen Cunningham's photography as I really like how she makes her photos very natural, detailed and sharp.
Location: I am going to take my photos in a studio.
Props/ items needed: I will need apples, grapefruit, mushrooms and a pomegranate.
Kit needed e.g. lighting, tripod, backdrop, macro lens: The kit I will need is a camera , battery, light box, coloured paper, tripod, spotlight, blu tac and a mirror.
Camera settings I will use:
F-stop: I want to position my fruit and vegetables in the centre with the background out of focus. So I will set my f-stop to around F4.0.
White Balance: As I am taking my photos in a studio indoors like Ken Leslie. I will be using a spotlight that will allow me to capture all the minute details.
Shutter speed: I want my shutter speed to be around 1/100 if holding with my hand. This will allow me to achieve the best result as too high could change the lighting which would affect the end result.
ISO: I want my ISO to be around 200 as this be just right when using a bright light. This will also make my photos look less noisy.
Which compositional rules will I use?
Ken Leslie: I want to test a range of compositional rules to see which one fits best. I will start by using odd and even numbers. When using odd numbers you usually create a more natural affect on the photo and it is usually more interesting and fitting. Whereas, when using an even number you get a very ordered photo. I also want to experiment using the rule of triangles. The rule of triangles can be very good to use because you will have a more centered and main piece of fruit or vegetable in the middle which will attract the eye. When taking my photos I think I will take them from a birds eye view so I get an overview. However, I might change and take photos from different perspectives like the worm's eye view or eyes view.
POMEGRANATE shoot:
Worst image:
I believe this is my worst image because it is out of focus. This may have happened due to my shutter speed being to slow so to improve this image I would make it faster to around 1/60. Also when taking the image I didn't have a steady hand. So to improve this photo I will try to keep my hand still or use a tripod. I will also increase the brightness on my photo. |
Best image:
I really like this image because it is mirrored which makes the photo more unique and much more clearer. I also have captured the photo in a way where I can see the pomegranate seeds and all the vibrant colours inside. As this shoot was inside I used an ISO around 400 to allow the photo to be bright enough. |
Apple shoot:
Worst image:
I think this is my worst photo because it is very dull and it isn't clear. If I could take this photo again I would change my ISO to around 400-800 this would make the photo appeal more to the eye. I would also place the apples on coloured paper to make sure the background is fully clear and it would make the photo much more sharper. |
Best image:
In my opinion, I think this is my favorite picture of the apples. I used different techniques to capture the apple from different angles. I really like how the light is shining onto the apples this makes the photo look much more brighter and pop more. I also really like how I laid out the apples in a triangle shape with one being in the Center at the front. Also if you were to draw a line down the middle there would be a line of symmetry as each side is symmetrical. . |
Mushroom shoot:
Worst image:
I think this is my worst photo because its not in focus so I would need to change my shutter to speed to make it faster. Overall I don't think its a good picture. If I was to take this picture again I would change the aperture (f-number). This would also allow we to capture more of the tactile textures. |
Best image:
This is my best image because it is up-close and you can see the texture of the inside of the mushroom in detail. I also really like the yellow background behind the mushrooms as the colours complement each other and as yellow is a bright colour it makes the image pop a lot more which emphasizes the photo more. |
Grape fruit shoot:
Worst image:
I think this is my worst photo because there is things in the background and the photo isn't in full focus. I also think If I was to take this picture again I would do a birds eye view shot to capture more texture and vibrant colours as in this picture you can't see it. |
Best image :
This is my best image because I love how I used light to add more to the vibrant colour. The light has also left a shine on the grape fruit this is like Roe Ethridge Apple photo. I also really like the way I positioned the grape fruit as I am able to see the texture of the peel and the inside of the grape fruit. |
LIGHT BOX SHOOT:
Worst photo:
I think this is my worst just because the lightening is not as bright as the others. When using a white light it brings out all the details of the fruit as it shines through them so to make this photo better I would use a brighter light. I would also think about how I arrange my fruit as its an odd number I could of done a triangle. Corn shoot: |
Best photo:
This is my best photo as its very focused, sharp and precise. This allows the viewer to see all the textures. The light used is a bright white light which brings out the vivid colours of the fruit. |
Worst photo:
This is my worst because I don't like how I arranged the corn as they both seem out of focus which doesn't attract the eye. The background is also shown. If I were to do this photo again I would make sure I am only capturing my object not the background. |
Best photo:
I think this is my best photo because its in focus and I like how I have one corn central and another in the background which is out of focus. I also like how nothing is in the background which makes the photo clear. |

Project Title/ shoot number: Texture-Shells
Description of aims for shoot: From this shoot I aim to capture all the texture of the shells and natural features. I will experiment with different types of size shells, colour shells etc. I want to try to use different arrangements so I can see the shell from different angles and perspectives.
Links with Photographers: I intend to imitate Edward Weston because he takes photos of shells and captures all the lines and curves and small details which make his photos really stand out and create a natural feel about them. I want my photos to show all the textures and patterns.
Location: I will take my photos in a studio.
Props/ items needed: I will need shells and sea urchins.
Kit needed: I will need black and white paper, tripod, camera, battery and spotlight.
Camera settings I will use:
F-Stop : I want to make my shells stand out and create a blurred background so I will need F stop 4.
White Balance: As I am going to be taking my photos inside I will be using natural light. If I can’t use natural light I will use a spotlight.
Shutter speed: I want to set my shutter speed to 1/100 - 1/200 this will allow me to capture a clear image and not affect the light
ISO: The best ISO will be around 200 if the weather is slightly shady. If it's sunny I would use an ISO around 200.
Which compositional rules will I use?
Roe Ethridge: I am going to test different types of compositional rules. I am going to take my photos from a birds eye view as this will allow me to show all the shells natural textures from above. I am going to experiment with the amount of shells I put in each photograph. So I might vary using odd and even numbers of shells. I went to position my shells more central like Ethridge. He draws your eyes straight to the shell and I want my photos to be able to attract your attention straight away to.
Shells:
Worst image:
This image is my worst in my opinion because I didn't use the correct lightening as I made it too bright which makes it harder to see the shell and creates an unbalanced look to the image. To improve on my image I would make sure to adjust the ISO and make sure my setting is on the right lighting. The photo looks extremely noisy and the ISO has resulted in a the image being too bright. |
Best image:
This is my favorite image because it is all in focus and I love how the light comes in and creates a shadow of the shells. I also love how I positioned the shells on layers instead of just putting them flat. I have been able to capture the texture of all the bumps and lines. In this photo your eyes are drawn to the subject matter at all times. I used the correct ISO in this image resulting in a crisp image. I was able to ensure I used the correct white balance for indoor photography to allow all the subject matters properties to be accentuated. |

Description of aims for shoot:
In this shoot I aim to be able to capture indoor and outdoor textures and I want to get all the colours, patterns and any natural features. I will experiment with different angles I take my photos with to show the different perspectives.
Links with Photographers
I intend to imitate Imogen Cunningham as she used to take photos of plants and different places and she would take her photos in a way that she captured the details. I also want to mimic Lucy Shires as she is well known for capturing textures of old buildings.
Location: I will be doing some indoor shoots and outdoor shoots.
Props/ items needed: My props will be found outside and inside.
Kit needed: White paper, camera and a battery
Camera settings I will use:
F-Stop :I want my object to be in focus so I can capture the details and I want my background slightly out of focus. So I will try out f/4.0 to around f/8.
White Balance: For the indoor shoots I'll try using fluorescent for my white balance . If the natural light is good I will use that for both the indoor and outdoor. I might also experiment using the setting cloudy when outside as that will create a cool tone.
Shutter speed: I will set my shutter speed to around 1/125 to 1/500. This will be just the right speed for me to get a sharp focused photo.
ISO: For my ISO I want to experiment and start with ISO 200 and go to around ISO 400. This will allow the photo to not be dull and not too bright.
Which compositional rules will I use?
I will use close ups this will allow me to capture the textures and colours this will make the photos feel more natural and it will draw the audiences eye as you can see more of the minute detail that you can’t see with the human eye. I also want to experiment using leading lines like Lucy Shires to draw the eye to the central focal point. I will mostly be taking my photos from birds eye view and eye level like Lucy shires and Imogen Cunningham. This will make the subject of my photo stand out more.

Outside / indoor shoots:
worst image:
This is my worst image its in contrast to all my other images as it is very dull and it is a little bit blurry. Next time I will add more light so I can capture more of the texture and it will all the image to capture the viewers eye. I may also think about using a tripod to get it in focus and get a very steady photo. Not changing my white balance for indoor photography has resulted in a very dark outcome which hides the texture of the subject I'm trying to capture. |
Best image:
I really love how I captured the berries they are very clear, bright and vibrant. You can also see the textures of the sharp thrones and you can see the little hairs on the stems and I have taken my photo in a way which has blurred the background out. Using the correct ISO has allowed me to capture an extremely clear image. With the object, the shutter speed has resulted in a clear focal point which draws attention to the focal point. |

F-stop :I want my object to be in focus so I can capture the natural textures and fine details. I want my background slightly out of focus. So I will experiment using f/4.0 to around f/8.
White balance: For the indoor shoots I'll try using fluorescent for my white balance but if the natural light is better I will use that.
Shutter speed: I want to set my shutter speed to around 1/125 to 1/500. This will be just the right speed to be able to capture the smaller details and still have a sharp and well focused photo.
ISO: For my ISO I want to experiment and start with ISO 200 and go to around ISO 400. I want to set it to that as it will give me just the right level of brightness.
Which compositional rules will I use?
I will use close ups that will allow me to capture the textures of all the materials and capture the vibrant colours. I also want to experiment where to position my camera. I want to use birds eye view to get a high view and eye level to take photos from different angles which might make the photos look interesting and appealing to the eye. Lucy Shires takes her photos from more of an eye view to give a more realistic affect this also allows the textures of the different types of materials to stand out more.
Man made textures
Best image:
The photo above is my favorite photo I took. I love how the light is shining on the paper to make it bright and vibrant. I was able to capture the texture of the paper and it looks like its water with a shimmer of light shining down. I took this photo from birds eye view which allows me to show how it looks from a high angle. |
Worst image:
I feel like I could improve on this image above because they are very plain and I didn't use a range of techniques to make the images look better. If I took this photo again I would add more colour and brightness because right now its very dull. I would also edit this photo to put it in black and white this will allow the pattern to appeal more to the eye. |

Homework photos:
These are my homework photos. I took most of my homework photos outdoors in a range of locations like a park and my garden I wanted to take my photos using natural outdoor light to make my images pop so I took them in the day time. This also draws peoples attention directly to my photos as they are unique and stand out.

mood boards:
Rob Gale: Rob Gale is a photographer well known for his kaleidoscopes which are shown below in a mood board I really like his style as its fun and bright. I feel like kaleidoscopes are very different and I love the style.
Geometric patterns in photography:
Black and white photos:
I have edited these photos on photopea and turned them in to black and white. By turning my photos into black and white has made lots of the natural texture stand out like the veins of the flower.
edward weston inspiration:
For this I was inspired by Edward Western to take shells and put them in black and white this makes them not only stand out and attract the eye but it also shows the tactile features of the shell. I love how Weston uses colour for effect to create a dark atmosphere. For this photo I used photo-pea and had to turn them all into black and white and had to change the hue.
IMOGEN CUNNINGHAM:
These photos I edited in the style of Imogen Cunningham she made all her photos look sharp and well focused which allows them to stand out and the colour appeals more to the eye. For the photos below I had to be really careful with the range of colour and saturation so I didn't over power it too much.

Andy small:
I edited my photos on photo-pea. My photos were inspired by Andy Small. I was inspired by Andy Smalls photos because they are extremely vibrant and I love how he takes very natural photos of flowers and plants. I really liked the edits I did because I used complementary colours so they fit and don't clash. For these edits below I had to pick my chosen picture I wanted to edit then I had to magnetic lasso to cut the background. I used magnetic lasso as it allows you to get closer and remove all the unwanted areas. Then I had to look up which colour background will be complementary to the colours in the picture. For example I used yellow in the first one as it brings out the purple of the flower a lot more.
Lucy shires :
These are my Lucy Shire inspired photos. In Lucy Shires photos she always make one colour stand out more. So for some of my photos I created a blue affect, green affect or red affect. I did adding the correct tone and changing the saturation and colour depending on the colours already in the photo.
Patterns :
I have edited my photos by using black and white patterns to create this 3D affect. I applied juxtaposition as I used very contrasting sharp lines against very smooth lines. However, it still made the photo work and creates a zig-zag affect.
For this edit I got a pattern off the internet and removed the white layer to leave with just the black zig-zag. I then added the apple layer on top but then turned the layers around. I then put it on the white layer and moved the layers until in the right spot.
For the edit above I picked a pattern from the internet (zig zag) and picked my chosen photo from my gallery. Then I had to remove all the white from my pattern by using magic wand and selecting the white and cutting it. Then I had to make a copy of the photo I picked for this photo it was fruit. Then I used the copied photo to allow me to move the layer. Then I moved it so you can see the pattern through the fruit.
For the edit above I took a pattern from the internet (swirl) then I picked my chosen photo from my gallery ( I chose a flower). Then I removed all the white from the swirl ( magic wand)to just be left with a black swirl. I had to make a copy of the layer with the flower and bring that to the top to allow me to move the position I had my flower in.
kaleidoscope:
I have made a kaleidoscope image on google docs where I was able to turn the images around to allow them to fit. I then even zoomed them in to uncover more up close images.
Worst image:
These are my worst photos because they are both blurry so it makes it hard to see the natural textures like the rust. Next time I would make sure my camera is in focus before I take it and try to take my photo from a better angle. |
Best image:
This is my best photo because its very clear and central. It really draws the viewers eye to it because the colours really stand out and you can see the rust and natural features. |

Evaluation:
My chosen theme was texture. I loved this chosen theme because I learnt so much about other texture photographers and I was able to expand my skills on how to make a picture look clean. I had many opportunities to do shoots which allowed me to get a much more professional feel. I am also proud of my progression in the editing process as I watched complex videos such as the patterns and texture laid on top of each other. I recreated the edits and added my own twist to the photos. I also did combination edits where I was able to test different photos together and get different outcomes. I believe my final selection of pictures above really capture different aspects of texture on man-made objects which was my main end goal of this project. Through this project I have really liked learning so much more about man-made objects, editing (on photo-pea and Photoshop), photographers, camera settings and different styles. This project has not only allowed me to learn about different photographers but I have also been able to incorporate their work into mine. For example I mimicked Lucy Shires work into mine and creating that very natural affect. I loved researching photographers such as Andy Small and ken Leslie and seeing how they use their unique style to capture different objects through their eyes and how they put a spin on it. Ken Leslie has a bold style which I mimicked in my fruit shoot. I also liked Andy Small specializes in fine art and flowers which I incorporated into my homework shoot. I believe my chosen images above showcase my individuality as I was able to experiment with different patterns, objects and placements and show my personality. For my next project I would like to learn more about different techniques and how to do detailed edits. At the start of this project I wasn't very used to cameras and all the different settings but as the project progressed I became more comfortable and used to it. I also started to be able to identify the settings I needed to change to ensure I had clear photos which weren't noisy. If I was to do this project again I would make sure to take many photos from different angles and rearranging them and taking more photos in a range of positions.
